Kim Bazile
Kim refers to her art making as “finger painting.” Since Kim has a visual impairment, she is highly tactile in her approach to painting. Her work is realized quickly and her color choices and bold, kinetic strokes are invented with little hesitation. In this manner she marries her brushy color compositions with bold mark-making. Kim enjoys variety in her work. She says, “When I make art I enjoy mixing colors and doing something new every time.” Kim is often reminded of the sun or being outdoors when viewing her own work. She feels that color in a painting “can make me feel different ways; like warm or cold; being in the sun or in the rain.” Kim imagines that others viewing her work would “enjoy the paint itself.”
“I just love doing art. I just want to keep busy. That’s all I want”.
